On behalf of the Winnipeg Chinese Senior Association (WCSA), we are pleased to invite your group to participate in the International Taijiquan Day – Winnipeg Joint Celebration, to be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026. This event is supported by City Councillor Janice Lukes.
On November 5, 2025, at the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference, March 21 was designated as International Taijiquan Day, recognizing Taijiquan (commonly called Tai Chi) as an important cultural heritage and a global practice that promotes health, harmony, and intercultural exchange.
This event is non-competitive and non-commercial, and aims to:
- Celebrate the cultural significance and health benefits of Taijiquan
- Bring together Taijiquan practitioners and organizations across Winnipeg
- Foster cross-cultural understanding and strengthen community connections

- Time: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon
- Venue: 134 Plaza Drive, Winnipeg
Program Highlights
- Opening mass Taijiquan practice session
- Demonstrations by participating Taijiquan groups or individuals (total performance time: 5–8 minutes)
- Cultural and wellness exchange activities (individuals or groups)
