【2023 Canada Day Drumming in Winnipeg】

Organized by Winnipeg Chinese Senior Association

The annual Canada Day Drumming (CDD) in Winnipeg will take place in Bridgwater on July 1st, 2023, which is organized by Winnipeg Chinese Senior Association (WCSA).

CDD was primarily organized by Legacy 150 Celebrations Society, a Vancouver-based non-profit organization, in order to deepen intercultural understanding, promote patriotism, and enhance civic engagement through one of the world’s most ancient and widely-adopted art forms – percussive arts. This year is the consecutive 6th year of the drumming event.

The 2021 virtual celebration was held in 148 Canadian cities and 26 international cities in 13 countries, and won a title of the 2021 Guinness World Records for "Most People Performing a Drum Roll Online Simultaneously”.

In 2023, the CDD committee is expecting to break our own Guinness World Record with the commitment and engagement by more cities and more drummers.

WCSA is organizing dual celebration events for Canada Day in Bridgwater, the Canada Day Celebrations and Canada Day Drumming in Winnipeg, the later is the highlight of the Canada Day Celebrations this year.

WCSA welcomes any drummer from all communities and cultural backgrounds to participate simultaneous nationwide drumming at 13:00 CST in Bridgwater Lakes Park to showcase the strength of cultural diversity and percussion arts to a broader audience in Canada and the world.

This drumming event will be broadcast live on CDD official website – www.canadadaydrumming.com, Facebook Live and YouTube Live.
